Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn whatever he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the detrimental comments from others kill his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
He began playing seriously after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a learning period and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated many of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is very humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors every single game of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
