No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandfather taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative feedback from others kill his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

He started competing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching period and winning was not a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated many of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Even though Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a regular basis.
